Activities?   Ok, but first this, this profile is unnecessarily long… sorry… As Eyeore was explaining to Winnie the Poo, “This writing business. Pencils and what-not. Over-rated, if you ask me. Silly stuff. Nothing in it.”  Pooh Wisdom overruled, here ya go…

Apparently, Facebook is now an activity of mine!  I am *really* trying to figure out why facebook needs to be part of my life… “everybody’s doing it” I hear.. but WHY?

I have found FB friends among all my various interests so when I post notes, I will try to do so topically, addressing the specific group. For example, If you are my FBF connected to real estate, you wont have to read a post about a haunted house or a Hiking trip. Hope that helps! see me here http://www.facebook.com/jeff.nix

Professionally, I’m an A type en-tre-pre-neur. In primary business endeavors, I  co-own and operate Atlanta Carpet Services, Inc, and its new high end division, Atlanta Flooring Resource and design. ACC is  a 15+ year flooring company in Decatur GA. (Call me now and buy some flooring 678-776-8861) Our business profile can be viewed at linkedin.com

A second interest is MrSkeleton.com, a lifelong hobby turned business. [[do what you love]]   (Call me now and buy a skeleton! 678-776-8861)

I am an active real estate investor (20+ years) and associated with GaREIA.org, a great organization where I serve on the board as Immediate Past President 2006-2008. Post Presidency, I now offer consulting services to individuals and real estate investing organizations.  See us here at www.theccrteam.com – (Call me now and buy,  rent a house or schedule an REI speaking engagement)

I have a big God concept! I’m a 20+ year member of Chapel Hill Harvester Church.. fully supporting the Gospel of the Kingdom and its extension through real people.

Inspired by the passing of Arch Bishop Earl Paulk, I have written an apologetics styled series of tributes related to the work life’s work of Bishop Paulk. God himself entrusted the man (treasure in earthen vessels) to carry the Gospel of the Kingdom to the corners of the earth. As all God’s callings are, his unique calling is without repentance. This is the premise for the tributes series which can be accessed here http://jeffnix.wordpress.com/category/bishop-earl-p-paulk/

Outdoors is good! I’m a volunteer guided hike leader at Panola Mountain State Park. Join me on a guided hike on the third Saturday of each month, 10AM at the nature center – the next best thing to the Appalachian trail!  http://www.gastateparks.org/info/panolamt/

I am career military – US Air Force Active Reserves since 1980. I work in the 94th Wing EO unit.

Interests: Simple outdoors – people study – Anything from Author Esther Hicks, hot rods, real philosophy versus psycho babble, general economics, residential real estate investing, meaningful (thoughtful) music. I know that everything I need is on its way to me right now, I’m excited about that!

Music:  Standards – 40′s – 50′s – All Sarah Brightman – Old rock & roll (Zeppelin) – Well done piano solo work (Jim Chappell, Brickman)- LOUNGE genre (Juan Garcia Esquivel rocks! – Meaningful ballads.

Anything RAP…not,  I refrain from judging PEOPLE who prefer rap but I’ll offer that rap shrinks the soul, diminishes our God-nature, and draws the very meaning right out of life…. Although I recently heard the song called “Ho” by Ludacris, it is slapstick funny although in very bad taste! It is a sad indictment of our humanity.

Favorite T V Shows: All the news shows (sometimes CNN) – Modern marvels – Anything history related

Spongebob –although the character development of Patrick Star is a constant disappointment!

The Simpsons – brilliant humor –never fails

 Favorite Movies:

Tombstone – Great guy lines – “pour soul, he wuz dus too hi stroung”   Said of Doc just after he shop Johnny Ringo.

Body Heat – 1981 William Hurt and a very hot Kathleen Turner.. GREAT story, many twists and impossible to figure out til the LAST SCENE.

Any Clint Eastwood – All spaghetti westerns

Mob Movies like HEAT and Casino

Matrix series – very imaginative, prophetic, just you wait & see!

Favorite Books:

Too many to be fair, However, fav of all time it would have to be:

The road less traveled, A New Psychology of Love, Traditional Values and Spiritual Growth – M. Scott Peck.  It is a perfect read at all stages of life. It comprehensively differentiates among the various feelings & emotions that plague the human condition because we fail to properly understand them. This book sets that in order.

Three of the same author… Esther Hicks

The Vortex, Where The Law of Attraction Assembles All Cooperative Relationships.

Ask and it is Given,  Learning to manifest Your Desires.

The Law of Attraction

Absolutely phenomenal material that I have waited all my life to stumble across. Myn personal history will conclude that these remarkable discoveries, and the daily work of my attention to them will have made all the difference.

Getting to yes – Negotiating agreement without giving in.  (Fisher – Uri) Google “Getting to yes”  This is widely accepted in academia as the seminal work on interpersonal negotiating.

Why? – If you’re in business, hobby or profession, military, all require skillful understanding of the “players” that will contribute to your success. This book teaches you how to do this well.

A  New earth – Awakening to Your Life’s Purpose (Tolle) This is a recent work that is largely philosophical but years ahead of canned self help books. It gets to the heart of our individuality and assists to understand better the “why” of our humanity. GREAT book to help understand others.

Why?  You are making investments in yourself and   intersecting the lives of others. These are the formative to life’s experiences wherein the decisions you make now absolutely determine your success and place in life in the future. Modern times do not allow the luxury of making the wrong decisions. This book assist you to understand the human dynamic and its impact on your decisions.

Stranger to these shores – Peace and Ethnic Relations in the United States (Vincent Parillo)

Why? … This read amazingly articulates the “why” behind the cultural misunderstandings that continue to block our “one humanity” understanding. It is a real eye opener whose conclusion to me legitimizes the new thought concepts of how we are all related and connected to one universal source of energy.

Ten Secrets To Happiness and Inner Peace (Wayne Dyer)  the title says it all but to praise the work properly,  it is an incredible yet simplistic run-down of easily apprehended concepts that have the ability to govern out stroll through this one shot we have at life. In this book, Dyer details some main threads in life that are common to the human condition. He details the issues and comprehensively exploits the realm of possible solutions.

Grow Younger, Live Longer –Ten Steps to Reverse Aging (Deepak Chopra) Excellent explanation of why you need to keep yourself and be the best you for those who love you, you have to live to see it!

The power of Focus by Jack Canfield & Mark Victor Hansen… So far, incredible stuff… guaranteed to improve your life (provided you’re ready for that) Get your preview look here http://www.amazon.com/Power-Focus-Greatest-Achievers-Financial/dp/1558747524

All works by Gary Larsen!. (Thanks B,linski for introducing me to his wackiness!)

 About Me.

“A” type, working on my patience with people, prefer low key everything, Appreciate things throughout the day, Thankful absolutely for EVERYTHING life brings me, understanding that there is a lesson in each person, experience and contrasting reality. I disdain liberalism and the insanity of political correctness but I agree with some facets of bottom up economics, having a kid is the greatest thing so far, I hope, look for and believe that there is some good in most people, be content with my situation while deliberating creating its betterment.

I believe you should have an O-Pinion about everything as long as you refrain from imposing it on everyone. (words do not teach) Curiosity is critical to your growth. Being interested in stuff compels you to engage more fully in life. Being informed is to be enlightened, helps me make better choices.

Christian in belief and fascinated entirely by quantum physics, “The Law of Attraction”, Esther Hicks and the thought of using the power of focus to create my path and engineer my happiness, all while trying not to impose these views on others. I look for and expect optimism.

I practice the pre-paving of my walk through thought – I am daily assured and daily perceive that as a co-creator with God, He notes my frame and lays the provision of the vastness of his universe in my hands in the exact moment that I need it. Is there any other way to think about it?

Dogs: OK, cats: not so much, car shows: excellent, sports: not a fan.

I’m not smart but I am exceedingly perceptive and grasp the governing concepts better than many therefore I tend to be way too busy and have difficulty saying “no”.

I give it my all at all times, I can fit with all people well, I commit to look for points of agreement with people and circumstances. I’ll give the benefit of the doubt first. Once I’ve given it by best, I rarely, if ever give second chances to reconcile the foolishness of others. Sorry but life is too short and it requires that you identify the spoilers quickly.

Quite regardless of the way it ever looks, in all things I give thanks.

Family wise, I married late (26) we had a girl-child even later (12 years later) so I am an *older* parent which I feel gives me & the spouse a more stable perspective on raising our yute.

I shop eBay first for everything! my best purchase so far was a new bluetooth for 1.00 plus 2.99 shipping!

Thankyouverymuch….. and if you’re so inclined, you may follow my progress at http://jeffnix.wordpress.com/
